Sapphire point overlook is a beautiful, accessible location outside of Breckenridge + Frisco. if you’re looking for a spot with beautiful views, easy parking, and no real hiking required, this is your spot!
The overlook is a looped trail that is less than a mile but has a great range of spots to shoot…especially if you don’t mind a little rock scrambling 😉

Sapphire Point Overlook spots– there are wooded areas that offer a beautifully backlit option for morning photos
There are beautiful views of Peak One of course!
And of course, the overlook spot itself! The overlook area itself is a great, accessible spot for photos because it’s large and flat and offers a lot of room for moving around.
If you’re feeling adventurous and the weather is nice (i.e. it’s not icy and slippery) you can climb down under the main overlook spot itself and you’ll get a slightly different view, and it’s SO worth it.
Along the trail from the main overlook spot to the secondary overlook spot there are beautiful, tall pine trees and a cool rock formation.
The secondary overlook spot gives you beautiful views of Buffalo Mountain!
Annnnd last but not least there are some picnic tables at the second overlook spot which make great dancing platforms!
