Paige + John…where do I even start?? For those of you who don’t know (all two of you reading this ha), I’m from Maryland, and Paige and John are as well. Paige and I met yearssss ago…I think sometime in 2015 or 2016, and we hit it off right away. At the time, she had a business where she would rent out the cutest furniture for weddings and styled shoots. When we met at a styled shoot, she had her camera with her and asked if she could take some photos too. Flash forward to 2024 and Paige is a full-blown incredibly successful wedding photog on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (but she and John are gonna make their way out West, stay tuned 😉).
We stayed in touch over social media, and second shot for each other at weddings over the years. We lived an hour or so away from each other so we didn’t see each other much but every time we did it was like no time had passed. Paige is effortlessly easy to get along with, and John as well.
Now, Paige + John had been friends for years and had somehow always *just* missed each other in their small town when it came to being single at the same time. But one day, they re-connected and hit it off like wildfire. These two became inseparable, each other’s best friends, and biggest supporters so it was no surprise when over the summer Paige posted a photo of their hands in front of the sunset, engagement ring firmly in place.
Here’s a little snipped from her post:
John and I have known each other since high school! Although we actually went to middle school and played in band together too but we don’t remember each other 😂 We also went to college together and our lives have been weirdly in orbit of one another for ages. Fun fact: my mom wanted us to date in high school. So thanks Mom for manifesting this? 😂 This is the easiest, most peaceful, beyond best love and partnership I’ve ever experienced. I know I work in this business but I always questioned it when people said “when you know you know”, because I’ve never truly experienced that *knowing* without reservations, until now. 🥺💕 We knew on the first date, and we are just so grateful and feel so lucky to have reconnected and found each other. It’s so surreal to be on this side of things now and I’m so excited to get to share in the experience with all my wonderful couples!! 🥰
John, I can’t wait to be your wife! ❤️
*Cue the happy tears*
These two decided early on that Colorado would be the destination for their intimate wedding ceremony and after booking an Airbnb (originally just for a vacation) they decided “Why the heck not??” and turned that vacation into their wedding weekend. They invited their closest friends and family members and the guest list was no more than 18 people (myself, Paige + John included).
When Paige asked me to shoot their wedding I was over the moon. There’s something so incredibly special to be the person capturing a wedding, especially when it’s for someone you’ve admired for years.
We all spent the best few days in Salida + Buena Vista celebrating two of the world’s best people. Paige + John are two of those people who you see happy together and their love makes you believe in actual, real, true love. I know that sounds sappy but y’all I mean it…and I’ve seen a lot of couples in love, there’s is something else. These two are ambitious, hard-working, interested people who you could easily spend a whole afternoon with at a brewery talking as if you were the best of friends having your weekly catch-up when in reality you hadn’t seen each other in years (trust me, I know).
Congratulations to Mr + Mrs Churchman! I could not be happier for you both to have found your person.
